Obsolete Files: Issue 1

Issue 1 – October 2025

The Obsolete Files is a digital magazine born from fractured timelines and forgotten worlds. Its main purpose is to promote the work of writers and artists while also offering the community free role-playing adventures — sometimes monthly, sometimes every few months, depending on how time allows.

We invite game creators to give this magazine a chance: the writers and illustrators you discover here may become your future collaborators. Each issue is intended to be both a showcase of talent and a contribution to the creative community.

Inside this first issue you’ll find the full adventure “The Crag of the Lil’ Monsters” for Nights in the Neighborhood, written by Rodrigo Salvay, where a group of animals must confront the intrusion of strange little monsters on the Mediterranean coast.

The issue also includes:
– Vestiges: The Probe by Benjamín Dusk, a luminous reflection on machines inheriting the memory of a silent Earth.
– The Fault in the Lamp by Joseph David Navro Navarro, where everyday life turns into nightmare.
– Hunt by Carla Esperanza, a raw tale of hunger and survival.
– Doppelgänger by Alejandro Broardo, an unsettling glimpse into reflections and doubles.

You’ll also find public illustrations from Andrés Indaburu Flores and Marcos Luis Lescano, the Monster of the Month (the Fresno Nightcrawler, with stats for both Your World Has Been Deleted and Nights in the Neighborhood), a selection of Readers’ Letters commenting on recent mysteries, and the Editor’s Column: The Dreaming Machine, which presents AI as an extradimensional host.

The Obsolete Files es una revista digital nacida de líneas temporales fracturadas y mundos borrados. Su propósito principal es promover el trabajo de escritores y artistas y al mismo tiempo brindar a la comunidad aventuras de rol gratuitas — a veces mensuales, a veces cada algunos meses, según lo permita el tiempo.

Invitamos a los creadores de juegos a dar una oportunidad a esta revista: los autores e ilustradores que encuentres aquí podrían convertirse en tus futuros colaboradores. Cada número busca ser tanto una muestra de talento como un aporte a la comunidad creativa.

En este primer número encontrarás la aventura completa “El Peñasco de los Pequeños Monstruos” para Nights in the Neighborhood, escrita por Rodrigo Salvay, donde un grupo de animales enfrenta la irrupción de pequeños monstruos en la costa mediterránea.

También incluye:
– Vestigios: La Sonda de Benjamín Dusk, una reflexión luminosa sobre máquinas que heredan la memoria de un mundo vacío.
– El fallo en la lámpara de Joseph David Navro Navarro, donde lo cotidiano se convierte en pesadilla.
