Together is a cooperative and collaborative game in which a group of people face the difficulties in their lives. The Traumas that have left them fractured and continue to follow them, as they will need to support one another to move forward. Above all, this game aims to encourage cooperation and understanding between its participants.

The Trauma

It´s the reason why each participant has come to the session and should be written down in detail. It is important to understand that this does not need to be a real trauma or fear. The characters are just avatars in a world that does not necessarily have to reflect reality. This secret text will only be given to the Facilitator, the person who guides the session. They will know how and when to use it during the game.

The Session

The session takes the form of a group meeting. Character creation happens first, through a round of introductions. Each participant will tell their character’s story, sharing only as much detail as they feel comfortable with, and also explain what brought them to the session.

The other participants should listen and pay attention. They may ask questions in an orderly and respectful way, but their main task is to recognize the strengths and meaningful moments that the speaker no longer sees as valuable.

The Characters

The system used in Together is simple. It has only a few attributes and straightforward dice rolls, but the most important elements are the Virtues which provide advantages during the game.

Players do not choose their own Virtues. Instead, they emerge from how the other participants see them while taking notes during the introductions. In Together, the value of each character can also be found in the eyes of their companions, who will be there to help them when they need it most.

The Nightmare

The Nightmare is the device that forces the participants to face what is holding them back: their fears and Traumas transformed into corrupted versions of themselves.

It takes the form of an escape room, a disjointed dungeon filled with challenges that will force each participant to confront what they fear most. Its purpose is to give them the opportunity to overcome those fears while receiving help from their companions. Victory can only be achieved when everyone manages to face what has been holding them back and take another step forward.
